Ochre

Crater Lake at Ranthambore Fort

Camouflaged Ruins.

That morbid shade of Ochre is a hue I often consider displeasing to the eye. Ochre to my mind was synonymous with ‘dull’ until this picture; taken in October 2013 at Ranthambore Fort in Rajasthan.

A crater lake atop the fort , with a glorious perfectly-camouflaged ruin in its midst is an interesting subject to anyone with a camera-in-hand. Yet, for me, it is how striking the ochre is, that makes for an interesting visual.

{Aside from adding my signature below, this photograph has not been spruced up or edited in any manner- this is just as it was on that warm October morning and to my delight “The light was perfect”!}
